That's exactly what I feel now. Well, last night to be exact, but I still feel it now, though. Disappointment. One second you got your hope high, and then the next second, it just fell. Fell hard. Am I being dramatic? Yeah, maybe. I was just extremely disappointed with Arsenal 1-3 loss against Barcelona last night, and I still am :"( First of all, CONGRATULATIONS BARCELONA! And also congratulations to all Barcelonistas, whether I hate you or not hehehe :p
Well, maybe you've guessed that this post will be about it. You were right then! :D Yeah, I'm so disappointed. Once again, we've just lost a chance to win a trophy. And it's UEFA Champions League! One of my favorite football championships, and it's a reaallyyy great honor to win it since Arsenal never win it ever since the name was changed to UEFA Champions League .__. And once again, it was Barcelona who stopped us. Last season, it was also Barcelona in the quarter-finals, and this season in the round of 16! Well, maybe Arsenal was unlucky because they had to face Barcelona so early, but however, Arsenal played a lot better last night than when Arsenal played last season. Arsenal was beaten 5-3 last season (in aggregate) while this season, Arsenal was beaten 4-3 (in aggregate). But well, we won the first leg 2-1! That's something! But nevertheless, how can I not feel disappointed, still?! We'd gone until semi-finals in 08/09 before United beat us, then we'd gone until quarter-finals in 09/10 before Barcelona beat us, but this season we've just gone only until round of 16! Maybe Gooners think that this season is better than last season because we were defeated with less difference than last season, but still, I think it wasn't something really good, you know. At least we'd gone until quarter-finals last season! But well, that was the result. Nothing I can do to change it.
But one thing I have to admit, Arsenal didn't play so well last night. Arsenal had no shoot on goal and Arsenal only had 30% control of the ball -_____- Arsenal barely got any chance to make a goal! Barcelona played well, though, and thank God Arsenal's defense was quite strong and our man of the match via Arsenal official website, Manuel Almunia, made quite many impressive saves! I had my doubt on him when he came to the pitch because Wojciech Szczesny got problem with his fingers, and I wanna apologize about it. You proved that you deserved to be there, Almunia! Thank you (:
The ones I was disappointed about are actually Laurent Koscielny and even though I hate to say it, Robin van Persie. Yeah. I know Koscielny is a tough defender, but he's just, I don't know, too emotional? He made the blunder in the match against Birmingham City, and last night he tackled Pedro then Lionel Messi scored from the spot -_- And Robin van Persie?! Yeah, him. I'm a huge fan of him and he's my favorite player ever, but Van Persie I saw last night just wasn't him! He made not many chances for Arsenal to score and yes, too emotional! He got a second yellow card! I mean like, there were doubts about whether he would play or not against Barcelona before the match because he was injured. But then, Wenger decided to fly him to Barcelona to play. Wenger had done many things to save him a place in the starting eleven against Barcelona! That wasn't how Van Persie should pay back Wenger's decision, Wenger's trust!
Forget about it, though. It was the whole team responsible, it was the whole team loss! No one to blame. Ehm, well, actually I do have someone to blame. Referee! I never really had problems with referees before, but last night was reaaalllyyy annoying! The referee was being unfair, seriously! Arsenal players got yellow cards sooo easily while Barcelona players could just escape it! And yes, IT WASN'T FAIR, REFEREE! Especially for Van Persie's second yellow card. Just because he kicked the ball after the referee blew the whistle and the he got a yellow card?! Hell-ooo! Sooo many players have done it before, and there wasn't any yellow cards! And didn't he know how loud it was in Camp Nou?! How could you hear a whistle blown while the crowds were screaming like crazy?! Ughh -____- I just wanna quote Arsene Wenger: Two kinds of people can be unhappy; those who love Arsenal and those who love football can be frustrated with the referee's decisions. When he made the decision it was a very promising game, very interesting. That’s the regret. We lost against a very good Barcelona side, congratulations to them and good luck for the future. We have many regrets tonight because we didn’t expect to lose the game like that. I feel sorry for people who watched the game tonight.
But I know, how hard I complain, how hard I cry even, it won't change a thing about last night. I just have to respect referee's decisions that's been made, and accept Arsenal's loss and congrats Barcelona. Well then, I've done it, hell yeah! ;p For all fellow Gooners, let's get our hopes high again for Premier League and FA Cup. Don't be afraid of being disappointed. Isn't that what a real supporter sometimes feels? We have to support our favorite team, in this case Arsenal, through everything with our hearts and minds! Let's show the world that we, Gooners, are always PROUD TO BE A GOONER no matter what! \m/ ^_^ And for my dearest Arsenal players, let's leave what happened last night behind, and keep moving forward. We still have FA Cup and Premier League to win! And believe that we, Gooners, will always support you guys! ;)) It's funny, though, that it's like Arsenal's competition is only Manchester United. We will face United soon in FA Cup, and the two strongest candidates to win the Premier League are United and Arsenal! Hahahha :D It will be heated!!! Yeah yeah, we're ready! GO GO GUNNERS !!!
